Our Days are Numbered: Do you know Jesus?

I told you all a few weeks ago that my word for the year was to “Be Still” . Tied to that, I also had an additional verse that was speaking to my heart.
“Teach us to number our days so that we may gain a heart of wisdom.” (Psalm 90:12)
Like many of you, my heart is broken over the recent plane crashes in DC and other locations. As I watch the news reports and look at the faces of the beautiful lives gone too soon, I am reminded that none of us are promised tomorrow. In fact, we are not even promised today.
The crash in DC seemed a little more personal since my husband flies into that small airport multiple times a year for work. As we watched the shocking news, I told my husband, “Their lives were over instantly. Just like that. It was over.”
I wondered, at that moment, how many of those people knew Jesus? There may not have been any warning or chance to prepare for death. This should alarm us if we don’t know Jesus, because it could have been any one of us on those planes. Yet, it doesn’t have to be that way. At this moment, we are still living and breathing and have the opportunity to turn to Jesus.
I know my days are numbered, and yours are too. Whether you are 15 or 75, God orchestrates all of our days (Psalm 139:16), and only he knows how long we will be here. I want to ensure that I use my days and time wisely, with a heart of wisdom that honors the Lord. There is no guarantee for tomorrow unless you have a relationship with Jesus Christ.
If you don’t know Jesus, you can change that today—right now, in this very minute. You don’t have to wait. It might be a car crash, a plane crash, a devastating diagnosis, a freak accident, or countless other things that can end our lives. However, we don’t have to worry about our tomorrows or fret about our future if we know and trust Jesus with our lives.
I pray we will all gain wisdom and think about what it means to number our days. Please leave a comment or message me if you want to know more about Jesus.

Welcome, I'm Darcy!
If we were in person, I'd invite you to sit on the porch while we shared a cup of coffee or tea. My desire is for us to have conversations about real life and how God and His Word brings us hope and changes lives. Pull up a chair, grab your favorite drink, and be encouraged as you read through some things God has put on my heart to strengthen us. Thanks for stopping by!
